Glare on the whiteboard

The best thing to do is to avoid the glare in the first place. Take the picture from an angle to avoid glare from the flash. Note the other light sources, especially windows during daylight, and find an angle that avoids reflections.

If you can't avoid glare in your source images you can reduce glare with PhotoNote. PhotoNote will process your original photo into a result that looks like it came from an expensive digital whiteboard scanner.

Image is Blurry

Use a tripod to reduce blur. Don't have a tripod handy? Brace the camera on a table, a stack of books, whatever is around. Use of a flash will also help reduce blur. Finally, image sharpening may help if unable to reduce blur in the original images.

Perspective

Taking an image from the side causes keystoning of the whiteboard. Perspective correction can be performed in software.

Blackboards/Chalkboards

PhotoNote works with blackboards, too. Here's a picture of Einstein's famous blackboard.
